Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in patient care within the surgical environment. Responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other staff to provide care in the OR
• Ensuring availability of supplies and timeliness of surgical cases
• Communicating with patient families
• Updating physician preference cards
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgeries
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care

The role requires adherence to the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum 4 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience as an OR Circulator
• Experience as an OR Scrub RN
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Either 5 shifts of 8 hours or 4 shifts of 10 hours
