Location: Marion, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Labor and Delivery
• Number of Beds: 8 (6 LDRP, 2 Triage)
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 3-4 RNs (including 1 CNC/CN)
  • Night Shift: 3 RNs (including 1 CNC/CN)
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor/Induction: 1:1
  • Postpartum: 4 to 6:1
• Equipment: Computer, Fetal Monitor, IV pump, Infant warmer
• EMR: Used (specific system not listed)

Required Skills and Experience

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Couplet Care
• Typical Procedures:

  • Labor Management
  • Induction of Labor
  • Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery
  • Vacuum Assisted Vaginal Deliveries
  • Cesarean Sections
  • Manual External Version
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years in specialty
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Work Environment and Additional Information

• Floating Areas: Acute Care & Emergency Department (tasks only)
• Dress Code: Surgical scrubs required
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Personality Fit: Best suited for nurses comfortable with labor and delivery care and postpartum couplet care
