Travel RN Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Unit

Location: Springfield, Tennessee
Facility Type: Hospital – Labor & Delivery Unit (up to 10 beds)


Unit Details

  • Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:3 to 1:6
  • Staffing: 1 nurse per shift, unit secretaries and tech availability
  • Equipment: GE Monitors
  • Documentation System: CPN
  • Scheduling: 3 night shifts per week
  • Floating Policy: Not applicable
  • Additional Support: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) available 24/7

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery (Level 2 experience preferred)
  • Postpartum experience required
  • Advanced skills:
    • IV initiation
    • Phototherapy
    • Bubble CPAP maintenance
    • Tube feeding
    • Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) care
    • Care for preterm babies
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) skills
    • Management of low blood sugar babies

Procedures Performed on Unit

  • Lumbar punctures
  • Circumcisions
  • Medication administration through IV
  • Assisting Nurse Practitioners with various procedures

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE (post-resuscitation/pre-transport care of sick infants)
  • AWHONN certification preferred

Contract Length

  • Approximately 16 weeks
