Role Summary

Leads emergency services and nursing operations across multiple hospital campuses, with responsibility for care delivery, quality and safety outcomes, employee engagement, patient experience, regulatory compliance, and fiscal management.

Required Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing
• Five years of progressively more responsible management positions in hospital, outpatient, or clinical environment
• ED - Emergency Department (5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• Experience in Management roles
• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification in a specialty applicable to the position

Key Responsibilities

• Oversees administrative functions for emergency services and nursing operations
• Develops budgets and manages financial resources
• Leads strategic planning, partnerships, and relationship-building
• Serves as liaison with physicians, physician partners, and medical staff groups
• Allocates human, material, and financial resources
• Oversees clinical standards, staffing plans, patient care evaluation, and process improvement
• Manages and supports department leaders, including goal setting, performance monitoring, and feedback
• Mentors current and future leaders for succession planning
• Aligns and standardizes care delivery across campuses
• Collaborates with other service lines to improve patient flow and care coordination
• Supports compliance with specialty designation guidelines
• Uses evidence and outcomes data to improve operational processes
• Promotes patient and workplace safety
• May be assigned emergency response duties during disaster situations
