Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Unit: ICU
• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
• Patient Ratios: 1:2, occasionally 1:3
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Float: May float within scope to Med Surg (1:5) or ER depending on census
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated

• On-call: No
• RTO Restrictions: No holiday RTO; max 5 total days off in 13-week assignment; no additional RTO after submittal or while working

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - ICU
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 3 years hospital experience preferred
• Epic Experience: REQUIRED (must have recent Epic charting experience; no exceptions)
• Travel Experience: Minimum of one successful prior travel assignment required with no performance or attendance issues (no first-time travelers)
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (AHA or American Red Cross, RQI accepted)
  • ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross, RQI accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU, ER, Med Surg; must be updated annually)
• Additional Training: Basic dysrhythmia training required
• Special Procedures: Central line setup & management, arterial line (ART), central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring

• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
• Cardiac conditions including cardiac surgery and CABG with hemodynamic monitoring
• Respiratory failure requiring ventilator management
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Altered mental status
• Management of multiple drips

• Attendance Policy: Zero-fault attendance policy; any missed shift counts as unexcused. Two missed shifts result in a warning; three missed shifts may result in cancellation. Applies on a rolling calendar year.

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Background check required within 30 days of start (7-year criminal search across all counties worked in last 7 years)
• Drug test (10-panel) required within 30 days of start with negative results
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, must state "cleared to work" with physician signature
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or Tspot) within 1 year; chest x-ray if prior positive
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer or signed declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccines or medical history documentation
  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 1)
• Education verification: Copy of diploma or transcript required (cannot be pending)
• References: 2 required prior to start
• Skills checklist and competency exam specific to unit required
• Completion of facility-specific modules and trainings prior to start (including Oracle and WorkRamp modules)
• Badge photo required before start (plain white background, clear front-facing photo)
• Signed job description, confidentiality agreement, code of conduct acknowledgment, and marketing consent form required prior to start
