Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract
Location: Macon, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Primary role in Level 3 NICU.
- Must be proficient and able to function independently in critical care of neonates including:
- Intubation (>22 weeks gestational age)
- Obtaining arterial blood samples
- Assisting in high-risk, low-volume bedside procedures
- Must also possess adult critical care skills including:
- Intubation
- Airway management
- Arterial line insertion
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within hospital and to nearby hospital as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
- Unit accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience not required)
- RRT License required (CRT NOT accepted)
Certifications Required
- RRT License (mandatory)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- STABLE (required for NICU)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
Licensure
- Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (RRT/CRT)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Holidays
- If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it
- If two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both
- If three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
Major Holidays Include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Required Health & Background Documentation
- Background check within 30 days of start (including education verification)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; if positive, additional documentation required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- TB Questionnaire required annually
- Other health documents as applicable
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for critical care and telemetry areas)
- Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by agency)
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Clinical screening required to determine fit before final manager decision
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency (not client)
- Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof running)
