Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights at a cardiovascular-focused hospital
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, rotating schedule
- Float Requirement: Yes
- On Call Requirement: None
- Block Scheduling: Case by case
- Unit Size: 55 beds
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Any (no logo)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years preferred (will consider candidates with 1+ years)
- Cardiovascular experience required
- Prior travel experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred
- PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
Licensure & Verification
- Primary source online verification of state license required
- NURSYS verification required for RN license
- Education verification required (transcript or diploma accepted as placeholder if needed)
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Work history verification for past 7 years required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must renew annually (fit test done onsite)
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Varicella (or documented history)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
Additional Requirements
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Completion of employment application/resume
- References: Internal only; not required for clearance
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blind testing (online) required for all candidates
- Core compliance testing annually for subcontractors
