Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina

Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Schedule: Every Other Weekend Rotation, Holidays as needed
  • Float: Required; all travelers may float between facilities as needed
  • Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics
  • Patient Diagnoses: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Substance Abuse
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • First Time Travelers OK (prior travel experience NOT required)
  • Previous Charge RN experience required

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • STARR Certification
  • EPIC system proficiency required
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (except Behavioral Health or Case Managers)
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (verify with management)

Licensure & Verification

  • Valid Registered Nurse license for North Carolina with primary source verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
  • Education verification required (Associate's degree in nursing or higher)
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education obtained outside the U.S.

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
  • Social Security Card required for badge issuance
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • No open hits on background check allowed
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents required, including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually

Testing & Competencies

  • Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts allowed, must score 82% or higher)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing (as applicable)
  • Competency exams as required by specialty/unit

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Must complete mandatory questionnaires prior to offer
  • Must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment form
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
  • References: 2 supervisory references required from clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years required through third-party vendor

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience and prior Charge RN experience. The position requires night shifts with weekend and holiday rotations, floating between facilities, and working with a diverse patient population including adolescents and adults with behavioral health diagnoses.
