Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MedSurg) - Travel/Contract

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00pm - 7:30am), including weekdays and weekends

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MedSurg)

• Patient Ratios: 1:5-7
• EMR System: Cerner
• Schedule: Blocked schedule; unit will try to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee
• Scrubs Provided: No
• Call Off Policy: Facility allows only 2-3 call offs per contract due to attendance concerns

Required Certifications

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC) — verify based on assignment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or Attestation
• Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification and transcript/diploma (as applicable)
• Competency exams and core training modules (HIPAA, safety, etc.)
• Facility-specific documents such as badge photo, drug screen consent, non-disclosure agreements, parking pass, and care learning modules
• Cerner Learning Training Modules must be completed prior to orientation
• ReadySet (RS) Surveys (online health assessment paperwork) must be completed by facility deadlines
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (initial and annual updates)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella titer or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Drug testing: 10 panel within 30 days of start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• Must submit a complete packet including candidate profile, specialty skills checklist, minimum 2 manager/charge references (within past year), and RN license verification
• Candidates must have all required certifications on file prior to start; no pending certifications allowed
• Attendance is critical; facility has low tolerance for call offs
• Stroke education CEUs (8 hours annually) required for certain units including MedSurg
• Color blindness testing and competency exams as applicable
• Workers compensation documentation preferred but not required

This position is ideal for RNs with MedSurg experience looking for a travel contract in West Virginia with a reputable healthcare system. Prior travel experience is not required.
