Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics RRT

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Winston Salem, North Carolina
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 48 hours per week
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience in a(n) Emergency Department setting
• Experience in a(n) Critical Care setting
• Airway management
• Medication administration
• Ventilator management
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• O2 therapy
• Suctioning
• Pulmonary toileting
• Nebulizer therapy
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• Bronchoscopes
• NRP

Assignment Details

• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• On-call required as needed/workload dependent
• No floating to other facilities; floating is only within FMC
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe
• Ratios: 35–45 patients per day
• Patient population: adolescents to geriatrics
• Work setting includes med/surg and ICU step-down units, with possible ED coverage
• Unit orientation includes 7a–7p, then 7p–7a for night shift; night-shift RTs need a few days of 7a–7p orientation
• Scrubs: black

• RTO after booking is not allowed
• Call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in cancellation and DNR
