Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN assignment in Los Angeles, California
• 26 weeks
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Must be able to float to Med-Surg and other Tele units
• Accepts 1st time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Float (2 years of experience)
• Float experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with Post Cardiac Cath patients
• Experience working with Cardiac Surgery patients
• Blood Product Administration
• Central line care/management
• PICC line management
• Heparin Protocols
• Manage Cardiac drips- no titration
• Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
• Care of Chronic/Long-term Ventilated Patient
• Experience with Epic

• 36 rooms/beds
• Ratio: 1:4
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No call requirement
• Scrubs: Royal Blue

Patient Population

• Adolescents to Geriatrics

Clinical Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, rapid response support
• Cardiovascular care: post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery
• IV therapy/phlebotomy: blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
• Medication management: heparin protocols, cardiac drips without titration, vasoactive drips without titration
• Respiratory/thoracic care: chronic/long-term ventilated patient care, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen face masks, tracheostomy management
