Registered Nurse: Cardiac Tele

Location: Seneca, South Carolina Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 7:30), 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, but may vary based on need Float: Floating to other like units or facilities is required

Patient Population and Procedures

• Diagnoses: Adult patients with chest pain/acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, permanent pacemaker insertion, CVA/TIA/stroke work-up, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, and GI bleeding. Surgical patients include general surgery, otolaryngology, gynecology, orthopedics, cardiology, and urology.
• Procedures: Cardiac/telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, dialysis, and Level 3 administration of continuous IV infusions and IV push medications for inpatient care per facility policy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, active RN license in South Carolina
• At least 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Compliance and Onboarding

• Background: 7-year background check completed within 12 months of start. Misdemeanors and above require approval. Exclusion (OIG and SAM) searches are required within 30 days of start and every 30 days after.
• Licensure: Primary source license verification and Nursys verification, both run within 30 days of start.
• Drug screen: 5-panel drug test within 12 months, updated annually. A positive marijuana result is an automatic cancel.
• Health: Physician physical statement within 1 year of start. Negative TB test (or chest X-ray if positive) within 90 days of start, plus an annual TB questionnaire. Immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B.
• Flu vaccine: Documentation or an approved exemption on file. Deadlines are 10/5 for pre-start candidates and 11/6 for working candidates.
• Testing: Medication and arrhythmia (EKG) pass/fail tests, with a passing score of 84%. Two attempts are allowed. Testing must be completed before orientation.
• Online modules: Approximately 12 hours, due within 72 hours of assignment. Must be completed before the facility will clear the nurse to start.
• Competencies: Annual core competency training (Parts I–III) with an 80% passing score on the exam.
• Badge photo: Passport-style photo sent the Tuesday before start, with a plain white, cream, or light gray background.
