Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30
Every other weekend required
Holidays required as scheduled
May float within the specialty, including MS/T units as an extender
Pre-scheduled on-call is not required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
CPI

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS

Patient Care Setting

Adult to geriatric patients
Fast-paced, high-volume ER border care setting for MS/T overflow
Excludes critical care

Additional Notes

Ratio: 1:5 on days, 1:4 on weekends
RTO must be submitted at time of offer and cannot include more than 1 major and 1 minor holiday for fall/winter

Pros

IMC Ratio 1:3, traveler friendly (many have renewed for at least a year), decent crew of staff

Cons

Unit is disorganized; you spend much of the day walking back and forth for simple supplies that should be more conveniently located. Huddle time is way too long and frequently leaves you getting out super late by the time report is over. Also the patient population in that area is a little trashy.
