MS/Tele

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Omaha, Nebraska.
• 13-week contract.
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 36 or 48 hour weekly option.
• 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit with ortho patients.
• Unit includes patients with behavioral health conditions; travelers are trained for safety and de-escalation.
• Travelers are first to float and may float frequently to meet hospital staffing needs.
• Float scope may include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU.
• Candidate must be more than 100 miles from the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• NIHSS.
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• Experience in an Academic Medical Center or Hospital setting.
• Comfort taking care of behavioral health patient population.
• Experience with Epic.
• Drips required on all floors.
• Pending license accepted; if the license is not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
• Government-issued photo ID.
• Background check.
• Education verification.
• State-specific search.
• NURSYS verification.
• Physical exam.
• Fit mask.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
• Negative TB or chest X-ray.
• Rubeola (Measles).
• Mumps.
• Rubella.
• Hepatitis B.

Preferred

• ACLS.
• CPI.
• Flu vaccine documentation or declination.
• COVID vaccination, exemption, or declination.

Additional Details

• Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.
• RTO up to 2 weeks is permitted and must be submitted with the application.
• Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo on the back.
• Parking is available for a permit or daily rate parking.
