Overview

• Travel/contract role in Charleston, West Virginia
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend requirement: yes
• On-call required
• First-timers accepted if experience requirements are met

Clinical focus

• CV and general surgery experience are required
• Circulate and scrub experience is required
• Cardiac, general surgery, vascular, thoracic, and robotics experience are required
• Proficiency is required in vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting
• The role is based in the Operating Room
• Average daily census: 22 cases

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Driver's License
• OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• Ability to scrub
• Ability to circulate
• Experience with cardiovascular (CV) surgery
• CVOR experience
• Vascular Surgery experience
• Thoracic Surgery experience
• Experience with vein harvesting
• Experience with radial artery harvesting
• Experience with complex general surgery, including colorectal/colon resections, laparoscopic assisted surgeries, whipples, liver resections, thyroids, and mastectomies
• Experience with robotic surgery, including gyn, colorectal, hernias, and lap nissens

Schedule and call

• 1 day of call per week
• 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4–5 week schedule
• 30-minute response time while on call

Submission notes

• Candidates cannot be submitted if they do not have CV or general surgery experience
• Pending RN license may be submitted
• Perm employees cannot return as travelers for 2 years after their last permanent day worked
• Flu vaccination is required unless a valid medical exemption is approved
• COVID vaccination is not required
