Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Overland Park, Kansas.
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 to 19:15.
• Ratios: 1:5.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• First-time travelers are accepted.
• This is a float pool position with no home unit.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Must be able to float between roughly 5 units in Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and to other Metro campuses as needed.
• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in the 6-week schedule period, with a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• No more than 7 days of requested time off.
• No pending license accepted.
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Skills / Clinical Experience

• MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown experience.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring on the unit.
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath experience.
• Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, Stroke, and COVID.
• Virtual Nurses, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell familiarity.
• Preferred experience: sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line care/management.

• On-call is not required.
• Block scheduling is not accommodated.
