Overview

Travel/Contract RN role in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Night shift: 18:45–07:15, 3x12 hours.
13-week contract.
Adult and geriatric patient population.
Unit details: average daily census 97, 26 visits/day, 26 beds.
Ratio: 1:4 each shift and weekends.
Weekend coverage: every other weekend.
Scrubs: navy blue or grey.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience with conscious or moderate sedation

Unit Details

High geriatric population: 40% of patients are over 60.
High admission rate: 40% of patients are admitted.
Primary Stroke Center for TPA; nurse mixes the TPA.
Top heart hospital; level 1 for STEMI.
No trauma certification, but care for Level 3 patients.
ESI acuity level is medium; level 1 and 2 patients are 23% of the total population.
ESI 4 patients are 6%, and ESI 5 patients are rarely seen.
Special procedures/unit details include moderate sedation, chest tubes, intubations, central lines, and defib/pacing.
