Job Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Kansas City, Missouri
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Missouri
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS

Schedule and Assignment Details

• 8 weekend shifts required in each 6-week schedule period
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities, including inpatient holding in the emergency department
• Block scheduling is not available
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Requested time off cannot exceed 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Experience Preferences

• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Clinical Skills

• MS/Tele and telemetry-based care
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Emergency response and rapid response team use
• Cardiac, neuro, endocrine/metabolic, GI, renal, IV therapy/phlebotomy, medication, respiratory, orthopedic, plastics, and wound care skills
• Care for patients with CVA, post-cardiac, post-MI, post-cath, post-cardiac surgery, and stepdown/PCU/IMC needs
