Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Louisiana

Overview

• Location: Marrero, Louisiana
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 4x12 hours
• Weekly hours: 48
• Schedule note: Facility open to 36/48 rotating or 48 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Telemetry experience with 2 years of experience
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Job Details

• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Weekend coverage required
• Holidays required, including at least 2 of 3 holidays
• No on-call
• Floating required

Unit Focus

• Medical/surgical and telemetry patients
• Common patient populations include COPD, renal disease, diabetes, post-MI, post-cath, CHF, cardiac drips, and varied medical/surgical issues

Compliance / Start Requirements

• RTO must be under 5 days, or additional time must be added to the end of the contract

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam
• Competency exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
• Core Part I, II, and III

• Physical exam
• Tdap within 10 years
• TB screening and TB questionnaire
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
• Drug screening
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documentation during flu season
• Employment application and skills checklist with 7 years of work history and no gaps over 30 days
