Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (ER)

Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Shift options:
- Day: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
- Evening: 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed hours
- Block scheduling accommodations available
- No on-call required
Job Description
- Cross-train and float within scope to multiple campuses including ED Observation and other Emergency Departments
- Assigned primarily to one campus with possible rotation to others
- Trauma/rescue rooms, triage, and locked behavioral health units are excluded for travelers
- Patient ratios average 1:6 for both day and night shifts
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Trauma experience
- Certifications required:
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Orientation and Start Dates
- Virtual orientation on Friday, onsite reporting on Monday
- Next start date options: July 10 or July 17

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
- Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually (clean shaven required)
- 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and titers required or acceptable alternatives:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
- Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician documented history
- Hepatitis B - positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within 1 year
- Tdap vaccination highly preferred for certain specialties
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination series preferred

- Weekend call-out policy includes mandatory makeup shifts within 6 weeks
