Cath Lab Tech Travel/Contract Job – Paramus, New Jersey

Job Details

• Call Requirements:

  • Approximately one weekend per month (Friday–Sunday)
  • About one additional day per week on call
  • Must be able to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes for emergency call

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• ARRT (R) Radiography certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Check:

  • 7-year background check within 6 months of start date
  • Includes national, state, sex offender, criminal, OIG sanction, SAM.gov, and OFAC searches
• Education Verification:

  • Verification of highest level of education required; diploma can be used as placeholder if verification is pending
• Employment Verification:

  • 7 years of employment history verification required, completed at least 2 Fridays prior to start date
• References:

  • Two professional references required: one supervisory within last 12 months, one professional within last 3 years
• Physical Exam:

  • Completed within 72 hours of contract signing, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP, stating good health and no physical limitations
• Drug Testing:

  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (no pending or rapid tests accepted)
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination series plus booster (no exemptions accepted)
  • Flu vaccine required for the season (no religious or medical declinations accepted)
  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
  • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year of start, completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score, updated annually
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) covering safety, HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, ethics, and patient care, with 80% passing score, updated annually
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam for RNs with 80% pass rate, updated annually (not required for this role but noted for RN specialties)
• Acknowledgements:

  • Orientation safety manual
  • Pass/fail testing acknowledgement (required for Cath Lab Techs)
• Additional Facility Requirements:

  • Completion of a self-learning module and post-test with 100% score prior to start
  • ID badge information provided during orientation
  • Onsite medication exam for RNs (not applicable for this role)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Cath Lab Tech in Paramus, NJ. Candidates must have at least one year of Cath Lab experience, hold ARRT (R) Radiography certification, and possess or be able to obtain a New Jersey Diagnostic Radiologist Tech License. The role requires day shifts with on-call responsibilities, including weekend coverage and rapid response capability. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams are mandatory prior to start.
