Job Description
- Outpatient Mammography Technician
- Staff are cross-utilized; mammographers provide X-ray coverage during X-ray technologist lunch breaks
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Mammography (ARRT M) certification
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Required Background Checks and Verifications
- 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List (as applicable)
- Education verification of highest level achieved (not required if highest education is high school)
- Sex offender search within 90 days of start
- Employment history verification for up to 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
- References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement only)
Required Health Documents and Immunizations
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (TDAP required, TD alone not accepted)
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT within 90 days or 2 PPDs with specific timing), renewed annually
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30)
- Respiratory safety clearance, renewed annually
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist (renewed annually)
- Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with city and state, no gaps
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start
- TB screening questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start, renewed annually
- Pending background check attestation not accepted at certain facilities; conditional clearances require approval
- Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccine exemptions; must be approved case-by-case
Shift Details
- 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- Shift hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
