Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Paterson, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Must be comfortable working independently; may be the only tech on site at a smaller satellite campus (float to Wayne Campus)
• Call required: minimum 7 days per month, including weekends and holidays
• No blocked scheduling
• Charting systems preferred: GE Mac Lab and Cerner
• Procedures include: cardiac cath, PCI, fistulogram, vascular angiogram, PTA, PPM implant
• Experience with equipment: IVUS, PFR, IFR, Philips x-ray machine
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during cardiac cath and vascular invasive procedures
• Must have knowledge and experience with 2HC/RHC/PCI, peripheral angiogram, PTA, and PPM implant procedures
• Scrubs provided; lead aprons provided as needed
• Local rate differential applies for candidates living within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience, including circulating experience
• Experience with cardiac cath lab and vascular procedures, including PCI, peripheral angiogram, PTA, and PPM implant
• Ability to work independently and float to smaller satellite campuses
• Comfortable with call responsibilities including weekends and holidays

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARRT(R) with New Jersey Radiology license or RCIS certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor card
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor card
• New Jersey state license required for Radiology Technologists

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit testing (N95 mask) within 1 year, must be completed prior to start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 6 months or 1 year depending on test)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccinations)
  • Hepatitis B titers or declination form
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccinations)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by mid-November

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to float to a smaller satellite campus and work independently
• Must be comfortable with call responsibilities including weekends and holidays

Summary

This Cath Lab Tech travel contract position in New Jersey requires a minimum of 1 year of recent cardiovascular cath lab experience, relevant certifications (ARRT or RCIS, BLS, ACLS), and the ability to work independently with call responsibilities. Candidates must meet comprehensive background, health, and compliance requirements. Prior travel experience is not required.
