Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Position: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)
Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours, 1900-0700 (overnight)
Setting: General Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric patients
Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Skills Required: Triage, IV starts, and phlebotomy

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including combined adult and pediatric patient care
Emergency Department experience within the last year
Experience working with adult patients
Experience working with pediatric patients
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Skills in IV starts

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
Immunizations and health documentation including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required

Additional Information

Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
Must be able to work overnight shifts and meet scheduling requirements
Candidates must complete all required attestations and background verifications prior to start

This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic emergency department environment with both adult and pediatric patients, requiring strong clinical skills and certifications. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
