Job Opportunity: Wound Care Nurse

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (No weekends or holidays)

Job Description

• Provide wound, ostomy, and continence nursing care.
• Direct wound care experience preferred.
• Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying types of wounds.
  • Dressing wounds.
  • Writing orders for physician sign-off.
  • Educating nurses on wound care orders.
• Wound Care Consultation experience is required. This role involves more advanced wound care than typical bedside nursing, focusing on patient assessment and education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• Must complete facility-specific compliance checklists and online training prior to orientation.
• Badge photo required 2 weeks prior to start.
• Annual mandatory OSHA training and other core competencies must be maintained.
• Facility-specific policies such as fingernail policy must be signed prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced wound care nurses who are skilled in patient education and advanced wound assessment and management. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule without weekend or holiday shifts.
