Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: New York, NY
Shift: Day, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM
- Completion of an accredited program in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular technology, or equivalent education and experience required
- Must have demonstrated experience with EP Lab devices and equipment
- Knowledge of hemodynamics and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- RCES Credential or IBHRE Certification or RCIS Certification (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications (AHA Primary Source Verification required)
- Current, active state license for Radiology/Cardiology specialty (New York license and ARRT for Radiology) with no pending adverse actions
Required Qualifications
- Completion of accredited cardiac electrophysiology or cardiovascular technology program
- Demonstrated experience in electrophysiology lab devices and equipment
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- Appropriate state licensure for specialty
Background and Screening Requirements
- Criminal background check covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years, including all aliases
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Social Security Verification, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List Search within 60 days prior to assignment
- Education verification with primary source verification for all formal education listed
- 20-year employment application and work history verification with no gaps, including relevant and non-relevant employment
- Two professional references within 2 years of start date
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, including vital signs, review of systems, medical history, and clearance to work without restrictions
- Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year prior to start; must be completed before start date (PAPR not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per specified options within required timeframes
- Annual TB questionnaire completion
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity/vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer and antigen testing; vaccine series or signed declination if non-immune)
- Hepatitis C testing within 6 months (if applicable)
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Sept 3 – May 31) with no declinations accepted without approved exemption
- Negative 9-panel drug screen with chain of custody within 60 days prior to start (excluding marijuana)
- Vision screening (Snellen) within 12 months prior to start
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness testing (online with 2 attempts; in-person Ishihara test if failed twice)
- Competency exam as applicable to specialty
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment (annual)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and training modules prior to or at start of assignment
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Signed confidentiality agreement and staff attestation prior to start
- Completion of department orientation checklist onsite
- Completion of required background check 8-factor analysis if any felony or misdemeanor hits occur
- Compliance with New York State Central Registry and Statewide Exclusion List forms and results if applicable
- Completion of code of conduct for custodians of people with special needs if assigned to relevant units
