Job Opportunity: Pathologists Assistant

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Surgical Pathology experience required
  • Scrubs provided
  • Local rate within 90 miles (pay details excluded)

Required Qualifications

  • Pathologists' Assistant with at least 1 year of experience
  • Pathologists' Assistant experience within the last year
  • ASCP - PA certification required
  • Valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, or Passport) matching all documentation
  • 2 professional references within the last 3 years
  • Background checks including 7-year county criminal search, sex offender search, and other regulatory checks required within 30 days of start
  • E-Verify or attestation required

Certifications & Exams

  • Verification of licensure required for Pathologists Assistant
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: must pass with 80% or higher, two attempts allowed
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: required for certain specialties (verify if applicable)
  • Pass/Fail testing required for medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams with limited attempts
  • Photo for badge (passport style, head and shoulders, clear background) required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire required for positive responders
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B: vaccine series and positive titer required or signed facility-specific declination form
  • Drug testing: 10-panel test within 30 days of start (no rapid screens)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start, including job description acknowledgment and security forms
  • Compliance with all background and credentialing requirements before start date
