Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Required Credentials and Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA or NCCT only) required
• Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date
• MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted

Health & Immunization Requirements

• N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date; must be completed on the specified form (no onsite fit testing)
• Documentation of MMR vaccination (2 measles, 2 mumps, 1 rubella) or proof of immunity via blood test
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed
• TB screening: documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date
• Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• Strongly preferred: Hepatitis B vaccination record or proof of immunity or declination
• Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years
• Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation required if fit test is required

Background & Verification Checks

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including international searches if applicable
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date and annually
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date and annually
• Social Security Number (SSN) trace covering last 7 years of residence, employment, and education
• Education verification of highest level achieved (not required for CNA positions)

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the relevant skillset
• Skills checklist
• Candidate submission coversheet

Additional Notes

• If TB test is positive, documentation of a chest x-ray showing no active tuberculosis is required
• Background check records are reviewed for final approval by security/compliance teams
• No religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing

This position requires strict adherence to credentialing, health, and compliance standards to ensure patient and staff safety.
