MRI Technician Position (Long-Term Assignment)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, Sunday to Tuesday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week)
Unit: Radiology – MRI
Work Sites: Rotating coverage between two sites (one outpatient imaging center and one hospital)
Bed Count: 371

Job Description

• Perform MRI technician duties using Siemens scanners
• Required to float between sites and work rotating shifts, including holiday coverage
• Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records/charting
• Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency with Outlook required
• Phlebotomy skills preferred

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification as an MRI Technologist through ARRT or ARMRIT
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Phlebotomy skills

Health and Safety Requirements

• N95 Fit Test within 1 year prior to start date, updated annually (no exemptions allowed)
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit test is needed
• Documentation of TB screening within 3 months prior to start date, updated if break >6 months (skin test or blood test accepted)
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity required
• Physician health statement within 1 year prior to start date, updated if break >6 months
• Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred (or proof of immunity or declination)
• Tdap vaccination preferred (within 10 years)

Background and Credentialing Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international residence history for the past 7 years
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
• Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
• Verification of highest education level achieved
• Submission of a detailed resume covering the past 7 years of work experience (including city and state)
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level reference in the relevant skillset
• Completion of a skills checklist within 1 year prior to submission
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any extensions

Additional Information

• Floating between two sites and rotating shifts required
• Rotating holiday coverage expected
• No onsite fit testing; must be completed prior to start date
• Positive TB test requires a negative chest X-ray dated after the positive test (optional but recommended)
