Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Location: Brookfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Minimum 2 years full-time adult Emergency Department (ED) experience required
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles as needed

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing (adult ED)

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license valid in Wisconsin (or compact license with proper address)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIH Certification (updated as required)
• CPI or MOAB (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training, 8-hour course, updated every 2 years)

Skills & Testing

• EPIC proficiency (must pass Epic Test-Out exam prior to start)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical competency checklist, updated annually)

Health & Immunizations

• Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Documented proof of two Varicella vaccines or immunity (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit Test for N95 respirators (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually

Background & Compliance

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others (updated annually)
• Employment verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
• Education verification (within 90 days of start)
• Drug screen: 12 panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and valid)
• Resume/Profile submission required

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and float as needed within skill set
• Compliance with all Ascension Health onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who are proficient in EPIC and meet the immunization and certification requirements listed above.
