Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery/Perinatal setting.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery/Perinatal experience.
• Preferred experience: 3-5 years in Perinatal clinical care in a high-volume delivery service.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists prior to assignment and updated every 3 years.
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and National Patient Safety Goals training within the past year.
• Verification of licensure and credentials within 30 days prior to start.
• Background checks including criminal, employment, education, and professional references.
• Drug screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Health and immunization requirements:

  • Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection annually.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
• TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test within required timeframes, with chest X-ray if positive.
• Driver’s license or state ID verification.

Education & Experience Verification

• Verification of nursing education and employment history within 90 days prior to start.
• At least two professional references required before first assignment.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
• Shift is primarily overnight.
