• Start Dates: 4/21 or 5/5 (Bi-weekly orientation)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Requirement: 12-hour Days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six weeks; every other holiday.

Patient Population

• Trauma, Ortho (broken hip/femur), Neuro (scheduled neck and back, spine/rib fractures).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Indiana
• Minimum of one year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Telemetry experience

Skillset Requirements

• Required Skills:

  • Strong neuro assessment.
  • Log rolling patients.
  • Applying assistive devices (back brace, immobilizer).
  • Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers must pass a tele test; stepdown experience only).
  • PIV insertion.
• Preferred Skills:

  • Chest tube/indwelling drain management.
  • Drip management (heparin, lasix, protonix).
  • Epidural management, PEGs/NGs, Buck’s traction, pin site care, On-Q management, CIWA/BH, wound care (packing, wound vacs).
• Personal Attributes:

  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Hard worker, resilient, and adaptable to change.
  • Social and team-oriented candidates.

Unit Information

• Unit Size: 44 beds.
• Patient Ratio:

  • Days: 1:3-5
  • Nights: 1:4-7
• Unit Strengths: Staff and leadership treat travelers as their own; supportive management.

Additional Information

• Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs (no competing health systems or agency logos).
• Teaching Hospital: May require precepting of students and new hires.
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required (subject to change).
• Attendance Policy: Three call-ins can result in termination.
