Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry

Job Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday
Float Requirements: Float to all inpatient units as needed
On Call/Call Back: Low census call with minimum 2-hour callback pay
Unit Info:
- 44-bed Intermediate Cardiac Stepdown Unit
- Fast-paced, high patient turnover
- Patient types include post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, med/surg overflow (detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, fem-pop bypass)
- Typical patient ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

Licensure: Wisconsin RN License
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in IMC/PCU/Telemetry
- Minimum 1 year strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU/Intermediate Cardiac/Cardiac ICU)
- Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment completed (prior travel experience required)
- 1 year recent EPIC charting experience required
Skills:
- Must be able to pass EKG test during first week of hire
- Hard worker, resilient, able to manage change well
- Able to work independently and complete tasks timely

Additional Information

Radius rule: Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
Scrub colors: Any color allowed
During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy
Low census hours (up to 36 hours) are unbillable but may require call-back with pay if called in

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac telemetry nurses who have prior travel experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
