Job Opportunity: Staff Nurse Specialty Care

Location: Binghamton, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week, every 3rd weekend
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care by protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering. The RN is accountable for compliance with nursing standards, professional development, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, delegation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for a group of patients. The RN educates patients and families, administers medications safely, participates in shared governance and improvement initiatives, supports new staff and students, and may perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties.


Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months of CVICU nursing experience within the last year
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

Certifications & Licenses

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
