Job Description

• Assist orthopedic physician/PA with patient care including casting, splinting, and care of casts, splints, and external fixators.
• Support patient intake, rooming, charting, and documentation.
• Demonstrate compliance with Code of Conduct and clinic policies.
• Assist physician during procedures by anticipating needs and preparing supplies.
• Maintain orderly and stocked treatment areas and exam rooms.
• Assist with room turnover and supply management.
• Apply orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces) to patients of all ages (infant to geriatric).
• Perform removal of sutures or staples, change dressings, and schedule tests.
• Obtain patient history and prepare physician as requested.
• Log nurse notes and medication refills in patient charts.
• Manage patient flow efficiently.
• Collect documentation for surgery, orders, consents, and prepare surgery charts.
• Process Durable Medical Equipment (DME) applications when needed.
• Stay current with new techniques and equipment through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks (89 days rounded to nearest week)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technician, with experience within the last year.
• Experience working with geriatric patients.
• Experience working with infant patients.
• Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner.
• Ability to operate general office equipment (computer, printer, scanner, telephone).
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
