Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays rotate with regular staff
• Floating required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• BLS
• NIHSS
• Unexpired driver’s license
• Epic experience
• Strong MedSurg background

Unit Details

• Med/Surg unit
• 32 beds, currently 20 due to staffing
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: no more than 5
• House supervisor makes assignments
• No charge nurse
• Nurse aides on unit: 3 per shift

Clinical Notes

• Unit cares for a broad Med/Surg patient mix, including post-op, pediatric, detox, and common medical diagnoses
• RN titration of drips is not required
• ICU monitors are used for telemetry monitoring and documentation
• Respiratory support available includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow

Orientation

• 3–5 days of unit training
• Additional training includes medication, pharmacy, and lab systems

Dress Code

• Any scrub color except camo or orange
