• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Start times: 7a or 7p

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NRP certification
• Advanced AWHONN
• 2+ years of experience in Labor & Delivery

Key Job Details

• Travel assignment
• Charge nurse responsibilities include triaging patients
• Floating to postpartum in rotation with permanent staff
• Call is optional; if called in, must be within 20 minutes of the hospital
• Sleep room available in the hospital for call periods
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
• Ratios follow ACOG and California guidelines: 1:3 or 1:4 couplets
• Cerner is used for maternity charting and fetal monitoring
• Level 2 NICU is on site
• RT is available 24/7
• Pharmacy coverage is available 24/7, with satellite coverage after 7:30 PM
• Anesthesia is available 24/7
• OB techs function as aides when needed
• Floor orientation includes 3 shifts on the unit, with 2 in Labor & Delivery and 1 in Mother-Baby

Patient Population / Unit Notes

• Primarily patients at 32 weeks and above
• Occasional GYN overflow
• Higher-volume Mandarin-speaking population; translation services are used
• Everyone assists with triage and NSTs
