Required Qualifications

  • RN license
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • 2 years of core experience in the specialty being submitted to
  • Level I Trauma experience
  • Teaching experience
  • Cerner EMR experience
  • Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience as core/perm staff
  • Must be gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment
  • Cannot work another assignment/contract while working for Dignity AZ
  • Must have their own vehicle
  • Must pass the dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting the position
  • Must complete onboarding by the stated deadline
  • No facial piercings
  • Natural hair colors only
  • Men must be clean shaven for fit test

  • TNCC
  • ATCN

Unit Details

  • ED / Trauma has 36 acute beds, 54 subacute beds, and 6 trauma bays
  • Ratio is 1:4
  • 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Navy scrubs
  • Phillips monitors; must be able to read strips
  • RT is available 24/7
  • Pharmacy is available 24/7
  • Charge RNs may task or carry a light patient load
  • 4 PCTs are used for sitters

Float Scope

  • May float between St. Joseph's Main, St. Joseph's Westgate, AZ General Laveen, and the 2 free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park and Glendale
  • May be floated midshift

Additional Notes

  • Weekly orientations are on Mondays except during holiday weeks
  • Travelers can be expected to have nursing students, as this is a teaching hospital
  • SIMs Lab is required for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus and/or St. Joseph Westgate campus
  • Day 1 pass/fail exam applies
  • Trauma, burns, and pediatric patients are transferred out
