Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (PEDS and Adult Med Surg)

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
• Wisconsin State RT license (may take 6 to 8 weeks to obtain)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Must have trauma level 2 or 3 experience
• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)
• Travel duos accepted

Patient Population & Work Areas

• Pediatric and some Adult patients
• ICU, Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department
• Coverage across all hospital areas

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform ABGs and CBGs in intensive care units
• Provide coverage for EKG department overnight and as needed
• Assist with intubation (do not intubate independently)
• May place laryngeal airway (King airway) during code blue situations

Team & Supervision

• Neonatologists and Hospitalists available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory system director, RT manager, supervisor, and lead RT assigned per shift

Scheduling & Shifts

• 3 shifts of 12 hours each:

  • Day: 06:30 - 19:00
  • Night: 18:30 - 07:00
• Schedule created in 6-week blocks, attempts made to block schedules when possible
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday requirement: Every other holiday
• Call/standby call: Not required, occasional volunteer off-shift call from 19:00 - 04:00 with 1-hour response time

Additional Information

• Must be able to work in all hospital areas
• Scrub color: Any (supportive footwear encouraged)
• Equipment used includes: Servo U, Servo I, PB840, Hamilton T1 ventilators; Bipap/CPAP devices; Vapotherm high flow; INOmax Plus; Oscillators; Cough assist; Volara
• Orientation: Leadership orientation followed by 3-4 days floor orientation
• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
• Time clocking in/out required at the facility
