Assignment Details

• 6-week contract
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours per week
• ICU unit with 2 units: one 10-bed unit and one 8-bed unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
• 1 or 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
• Schedule is per unit needs
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekends in 6 weeks
• Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor
• No call or standby requirement
• Floating as needed
• Scrub color: Navy

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• Ventilator experience
• Drip experience
• Ability to titrate drips
• Ability to troubleshoot RT equipment
• Copy of driver’s license needed at time of submittal to validate legal name; name on profile must match government-issued ID exactly, with no middle initial or middle name

Unit Details

• ICU
• Common patient mix includes medical and surgical patients, with more neurosurgery
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include Propafol, Cardene, Cardizem, and all pressors
• Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment
• No nurse aides or patient care techs on the unit
• RT is in the ICU 24/7
• Nurses print and read tele strips themselves
• Own staff handles EVD or devices
• Daytime mid-level support; nights have mid-level coverage
• The hospital does a lot of neurosurgery
