Overview

• Travel assignment for an experienced ICU RN in Redding, California.
• 13-week contract.
• 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week.
• Every other weekend required.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California.
• BLS.
• ACLS.
• 2+ years of ICU specialty experience.
• Experience with ICP monitoring and ventrics.
• Trauma experience.
• Ability to titrate vasopressors and sedation.
• Must be able to interpret strips.
• Must be open to floating to PCU, CICU, tele, or medsurg units.

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS.
• Previous travel experience.

Unit Details

• ICU / Trauma ICU.
• 30 beds.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, and 1:1 to 1:2 most of the time.
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment.
• Intensivist in house 24/7.
• RT assigned to ICU 24/7.
• Hamilton vents used on the unit.
• One unit tech for all 30 beds.

Schedule and Assignment Notes

• Self-scheduling is not finalized until manager review.
• Block scheduling is not available.
• Call or standby is not required.
• Holiday RTO will be considered but not guaranteed.
• Unit orientation is 1 day, with more provided if needed.
• The unit is fast-paced and travelers are expected to work hard and ask for help when needed.
