Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Setting: Outpatient Cardiology Clinic
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Charting system: EPIC (experience required)
• Floating: Required within skillset
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• Patient conditions: Newly diagnosed cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist care

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferred, AHA only

Required Clinical Skills

• Cardiology outpatient experience with basic cardiology skills
• Typical office nurse duties: rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, patient callbacks, completing patient forms

Licensing Requirements

• Must hold an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license
• Pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Primary source verification of state license required within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree required
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or positive titers required for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination documentation or declination with masking requirement during flu season

Additional Requirements

• I9 or attestation required
• Valid Driver’s License/State ID required within 48 hours of signing (must meet radius requirements)
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
• Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
• Orientation safety manual review and acknowledgment required before start
• References: 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Employment application/resume required
• Annual skills checklist update required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable

Work Environment and Policies

• Call-off policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Return to office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility at booking
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on experience
• No local radius rule acceptance
