Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Job Summary

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of complex conditions requiring telemetry monitoring.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Tech Cert Verification - National
• Acknowledgement of PassFail Testing
• State License 1 Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• NIHSS certification or training

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
• IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
• Accessing and managing ports
• Blood product administration
• Central and peripheral line care/management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Management and titration of cardiac drips
• Care for CVA (stroke) patients
• Substance withdrawal management
• Monitoring chemotherapy patients
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement care
• Management of surgical drains and chest tubes
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Wound care including Wound Vac

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts
• Typical shift: 1845 - 0715

Orientation

• 12 hours total
• 1 day scheduled based on availability

Systems Used

• Charting: Epic (experience required)
• Medication dispensing: Pyxis

Patient Population

• Adults and geriatrics

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance (must be completed or in process prior to or shortly after start)
• Verification of education and licensure (primary source verification required)
• Required health documents including physical exam, immunizations (TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), negative TB test (QGold or TSpot), flu vaccine or exemption, COVID-19 vaccine or exemption
• Drug screening (9 panel) required within 1 year (agency requirement)
• Competency exams including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
• Completion of facility-specific documents such as code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and health & wellness commitment
• Must review and sign facility policies and agreements
• Must have an agency badge and provide a professional photo for badge issuance

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must prioritize compliance and meet all deadlines for credentialing and onboarding
• Shifts access granted only after successful orientation and clearance
• Commitment to 4 shifts per month is mandatory
• Candidates should not be actively pursuing other per diem or travel jobs that would interfere with this commitment
