Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – PCU

Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required (higher experience not indicated).
- Strong Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) background preferred.
- Experience with transplant, renal, or high-acuity medical patients is preferred.
- Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, advanced respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC), IV insulin protocols and drips, cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration), central line and PICC management, blood product administration, renal and liver transplant care, and post-procedure recovery (kidney biopsy, paracentesis).
- Use of EPIC charting and Pyxis medication system.
- Call and float responsibilities required within the organization.
- Weekend coverage every other or every third weekend.
Required Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Proficiency in advanced respiratory support (e.g., BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC)
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Central line and PICC line management skills
- Experience in post-procedure recovery care
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and state fingerprinting (BCI/FBI) with specific codes required.
- Education accreditation confirmation from an accredited nursing program (CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA).
- Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start.
- Employment application and skills checklist required.
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within one year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within one year; TB questionnaire required annually.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Hepatitis B (titer or vaccine series; declination accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended.

- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual, ethics, and compliance policies required.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong PCU or stepdown background who are comfortable managing high-acuity patients, including transplant and renal cases, and who meet the outlined certification and compliance requirements.
