Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Float required to units of equal acuity
Unit size: 36 beds
Charting system: Epic (experience required)
Trauma Level I experience preferred

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Experience with Epic charting system
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) certification
Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
Education verification (highest level)
Negative 2-step TB test or equivalent within 1 year
Immunizations/vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
Photo for badge
Skills checklist and work history verification as required

Additional Information

Float to units of equal acuity may be required
Candidates residing in certain counties in Texas are not eligible for this travel assignment
Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
Core competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable

This position offers an opportunity to work nights in a telemetry unit with a moderate patient ratio and requires strong Epic charting skills. The role is suited for experienced RNs with at least 2 years in the specialty and preferred prior travel experience.
