Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Outpatient
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Desired Start Date: On or before May 4
Job Description
- Provide speech language pathology services across a patient age range from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Experience with modified barium swallow studies is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Experience working with geriatric patients.
- Experience with modified barium swallow studies.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check (7-year) required within 1 year of start and must be updated annually.
- Education verification (highest level) required.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or exemption (for 2025-26 season)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed.
- Fit mask test (annual) with specific mask types required.
- Various facility-specific acknowledgments and forms must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- References: Two references required within 3 years of start.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (annual updates required)
