• Orientation: Mandatory 5 shifts (36-40 hours) during clinical orientation week
• Return to Office (RTO) Parameters: No RTO during first or last week of assignment
• Local Travel: No locals; must live more than 30 miles from facility

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Rapid Response team experience
• Total joints experience

Certifications Required

• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Must be available to float as needed
• Must work holidays and evening shifts as scheduled during assignment (holiday requirements vary based on number of holidays during assignment)
• 3 call outs result in termination
• Must complete required eLearning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours)
• Must complete facility-specific job description and orientation documents
• Must complete various facility-required acknowledgements and forms (e.g., confidentiality, tobacco-free policy, timecard expectations)

Licensure & Background Checks

• Valid Florida RN license required with primary source verification
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, and education verification
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Fit mask testing to be completed onsite during first week

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Required vaccinations or documented immunity for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms
• Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers

Competency & Performance

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required (passing score 84% or higher)
• Color blindness testing required (passing score 80% or higher)
• Performance evaluation within last year required if previously assigned through any agency
• Skills checklist required

References

• Two professional references required within two years of start

This position is for a high-acuity mixed unit requiring a skilled RN with rapid response and total joint experience, flexible to float, and able to meet strict attendance and certification requirements.
