Operating Room Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job

Location: Torrance, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital with 356 staffed beds
• Charting system: Epic
• Free parking available
• Scrub color: Any color allowed
• Possible floating to a nearby facility within reasonable distance
• Weekend requirement: 1 Saturday shift every 6 weeks
• On-call requirement: 1 call shift every 6 weeks
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion
• Locals accepted; pending licenses not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background & Compliance

• Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• State-specific searches and attestations as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
• Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Completion of Epic training modules required prior to or shortly after start
• Floating policy acknowledgment required due to possible float assignments

• Must be willing to float to nearby facility if needed
• Weekend and on-call shifts required on a rotating basis
• Block scheduling may be available but is at manager discretion
• Locals are eligible to apply
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Physical and health documentation must be current and compliant with facility policies
• All certifications and background checks must be valid and verifiable prior to start

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of acute care experience, comfortable with floating, weekend and on-call shifts, and who meets all licensure and certification requirements for California.
