Job Details
- Specialty: Laboratory
- Shift: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in the specialty
- Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certifications Accepted:
- ASCP MLT or MLS
- AMT Certification also accepted
- EMR System: Proficiency with EPIC required (recent experience preferred)
- Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
Job Description
The position involves working in a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive, time-sensitive laboratory services including:
- Chemistry
- Immunochemistry
- Coagulation
- Hematology
- Urinalysis
- Manual Testing
- Rapid Covid and Influenza testing
- Manual Body Fluid and CSF cell counts and differentials
- Transfusion Services
- Central Processing
The laboratory operates 24/7 and provides training for new staff and medical technology students.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Lab Technician with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
- Experience with Epic EMR system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start
- Education accreditation confirmation from recognized accrediting bodies
- Monthly monitoring through workforce screening systems
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions require documentation)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
- Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
- Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies

- Training and support available for new staff and students
