Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Friday Harbor, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Patient Diagnoses: hip pain, back pain, knee pain, balance issues, general strengthening, post-operative orthopedic care
• Unit does not accept first-time travelers; experienced candidates preferred
• Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Washington

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including Social Security verification, federal and state criminal searches, and education verification required prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date required
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually, required for onsite work
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year required; TB questionnaire required annually
• Immunization or documented immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (immunity, vaccine series, or declination)
• Drug testing required within 30 days of start, covering a comprehensive panel of substances
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• Respiratory safety clearance required for onsite candidates, updated annually

Orientation & Training

• Must complete facility-specific orientation manual and pass an orientation quiz with 100% score prior to start
• Must review and comply with facility policies including dress code, masking policy, personnel illness restrictions, workplace violence prevention, and daily responsibilities
• Photo for badge and various facility-specific forms must be completed prior to start
• N95 fit testing will be completed onsite if providing patient care; facial hair must be clean-shaven when using N95 masks

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not accepted for first-time travelers on this unit
• Candidate must sign Social Security verification release
• WA State Patrol background check must be run within 90 days prior to start for Washington placements
• Orientation tests vary by discipline; Physical Therapists must complete the Interprofessional Caregivers orientation module
• Facility requires timely completion of computer access setup within 48 hours of receiving access emails
